My desktop PC (Dell Inspiron 3881) goes into automatic repair every time it starts.

If I select the option "Use device" in automatic repair it offers the HDD plus a couple of others. If I click on the HDD, it starts up, & works perfectly. Every other path through the options makes it loop through automatic repair.I've tried many of the suggested fixes (just about everything short of reinstalling Windows - but I've tried rebooting from installation media & selecting 'repair'), but none has made any difference.
