my dell monitor keeps giving me a black screen and in the bottom corner it says "HDMI ?"

does anyone know how to fix this? i used to get this alot but after i moved something it hasnt popped up again but now its doing it again and ive tried to move some cords around but this time it still keeps saying and doing the same thing. im not sure how to fix it does anyone know how to fix this issue?
