My computer (old) says unidentified network because it says ethernet does not have a valid IP connection

Because my Wi-Fi does not work I am using a wireless ethernet adaptor for wireless network. It is now not working because it says even and does not go for a valid IP connection. I have tried so many things from network reset to CMD commands. There is nothing wrong with my Wi-Fi I can use my phone to connect to the internet but not my computer.
