My computer is stuck on a black screen

So this all started about a year ago in 2023 when my computer just stopped responding. When I press the power button, it does sound like it’s turning on but all I see is a black screen. Ive been looking around on Google for things I can do to fix this issue but nothing works. Why I think this is happening is probably because when I let my little brother use it, i have noticed that he had downloaded a lot of unnecessary things.
