My computer falls asleep every few seconds

Hello, I've been having the problem for a few days that my computer seems to pause every few seconds. This is noticeable, for example, in that while I am writing a text, individual letters are swallowed which I can correct afterwards. The cursor over written text stops approximately every 10 to 15 characters and then moves on.
