My Bluetooth earphones are connected to my Laptop but the sound plays through my laptop speakers.

When I connect my bluetooth earphones to my laptop, I'm able to increase/decrease volume and pause/play videos with them, but I'm unable to hear sound through them, the sound instead plays through the laptop speakers. I've looked at sound in the control panel but my earphones don't show up in the other input and output devices.
