This may sound like a silly question, but I'm in the process of running
Windows Update for the first time in several months. I'm running Windows
Vista Ultimate and some of the updates in the past didn't install. I tried
several things and they still wouldn't work so I just disable Windows Update.
Today I noticed that a new version of Windows Update was available so I
thought I'd try all the updates. There were a lot of them totalling back all
the way to early April. So far I have no reason to necessarily doubt it's
success, but I'm worried because each time my computer turns on it says
"configuring updates," but then it restarts ("shutting down"). Then it
powers up again and does the same thing again. I think it might be a good
thing because this never happened in the past and maybe that's why the
updates never worked before. BOTTEM LINE: It's happened at least 10 times
now and has been doing so for the last 2 hours.. do you think it's still
continuing to install the updates or should I intervene?
Thanks
