MSI GP73 Leopard 8RE, Windows 10 home edition, won't detect my v-moda Crossfade m-100 headset microphone.
My audio drivers are as follows:
>Realtek Audio Console (from Google Play)
Audio Inputs & Outputs-
>Speakers & Microphone Realtek (R) Audio:
Version: 10.0.18362.1
Driver Date: 18/03/2019
Driver Provider: Microsoft
Sound, video, game controllers:
>Nvidia Virtual Audio Device (wave extensible) (wdm)
Version: 4.13.0.0
Driver Date: 14/03/2019
Driver Provider: NVIDIA
>Realtek(R) Audio
Version: 6.0.1.8612
Driver Date: 08/01/2019
Driver Provider: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
I tried plugging it in using the 1/4" pro adapter that should have made my headset as simple as plug-and-play. And yet the headphones work but the microphone is not detected. Here's the headphone, and splitter cable I'm talking about: https://imgur.com/ercCLmQ
When I test out the v-moda microphone on other devices including my phone and a tablet it works just fine. So I know it's not the microphone that is failing. And since the headphones work just fine on my laptop and all other devices, I know it's not that either. Nor is it the cable as I tested that on several devices too.
Based on everything I've been told the problem seems to lay with the drivers or some software conflict. My laptop seems perfectly capable of detecting the built-in microphone as well as other forms of microphones plugged into USB ports. So why can't it detect my headset microphone plugged into the 1/4" jack?
Please advise.
