Updates in February 2016 corrupted my existing copy of MSE and when I finally uninstalled MSE, rebooted and downloaded MSE 4.9.0218.0 ENUS\x86\MSEInstall.exe it crashed VistaSP2 32 bit. I have no other anti virus software on my drives, have been running MSE successfully till February 2016 after which date I have been unable to boot my notebook HP-COMPAQ 8710p till I recently uninstalled MSE, I am using Defender now.
MS caused me a lot of grief with their VistaSP2 "updating" in February 2016, I struggled several months having to boot in safe mode and CHKDSK all the time just because of sloppy MS updates. I even had to replace my primary memory (broken) last Monday because of automatic updates (WUAUeng.dll) caused overclocking (100%) my memory card for days.
