MS mthly update of windows 10 trashes my open office settings why?

specifically it trashes "4"user\apps\open office\4If I copy in a good copy of that entire subdirectory "4" [which is for Apache Open office 4] then I am back to normal. Is MS deliberately sabotaging its competitors products?
