MS account using third-party email address not allowing sign-in with newly created outlook.com email address

A microsoft account holder has an account on Microsoft which was setup using third-party email address. A helper for the account holder signed-in to that MS account through the outlook.live.com page, opened "Your info", and created for the account holder, an outlook.com email address for the account. Now, after a day, the new outlook.com email address is not accepted for trying to sign in to the user's account on outlook.live.com, and the message shown on the sign on page is, "That Microsoft account doesn't exist.
