Moving windows loses maximisation

I'm frustrated by a new feature in Windows. When I move a window from one screen to another it doesn't stay maximised. I had the advice that I have to touch the window on the top of the screen and this works sometimes but not every time (I'd estimate half of the time). Can I just disable this new feature that I neither want nor use?***Move from Microsoft 365 and Office / Other / For business / Other***
