Mouse Pointer Disappears in IE when trying to add Google as Default Search Engine and Completely in Chrome. Solutions require IE Performance Troubleshooter which is missing in MS10

Mouse pointer started disappearing in Chrome and no solutions have worked. It appears there is a driver update to MS10 from wch.cn - Ports which I can not roll back without a full restore of MS10 to previous date. At first, changing Chrome:Settings (turning off hardware acceleration) worked, for about an hour. Giving up on Chrome, started using IE10, but I want to use Google search engine. Cannot add the Google add on so that I can change the default search engine. Symptoms include the mouse pointer disappearing on any Google page or related page and even using the touch screen, Google add on will not add. This bug (or virus) pretty much prevents use of Google and Chrome and how there is not a solution for this as of yet, by either MS or Google, is beyond me.
