2. 2018-12 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4471318). Installation status: Failed. Error details: Code 80070005.

I've been battling this for the last three months, and have read everything I can find and tried everything I can try, but I haven’t been able to get these updates to install. I can't figure out what to do. I'm worried about using the machine because it's at least 3 months behind in critically important security updates, and it takes forever for it to reboot/startup because it tries to install the updates, but then fails at 15% complete, stops, reverts to the settings before the attempted updates, and restarts again, etc.

All of the monthly security updates were successfully installed every month without any issues, before October 2018. What changed? From that point on, dozens of attempts have all failed.

Please help. There must be some method other than reinstalling Windows 7 to fix this. And upgrading to W10 is not an acceptable option. I have two other PC's currently running Windows 10. I need this machine to continue to run W7.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
