Monitor with DisplayPort connector switches to the second monitor with HDMI.

So recently I bought a DisplayPort because I had an extra monitor and decided to buy it to use. When I tried using the cord it didn't work for my main monitor or my secondary monitor and that was yesterday. But today when I got home divide app had to update I did the update and restarted my pc somehow both monitors were on at the same time. But the DisplayPort cord was in the second monitor not my main. This is all on the same GPU by the wall I'm still using a gtx 1650. When I swapped the cords the DisplayPort cord stopped working and only the HDMI one did. It was like that for an hour or two.
