Microsoft Windows 11 Security Pin is not allowing letters to be typed to access Hello password. How do I get help?

The Hello sign in for my new laptop will not allow me to type in my full password. It only accepts numbers. I have tried to rest the password and that screen also does not allow letters to be used. Help, I have uploaded all of the new updates suggested and I still cannot sign in to my laptop without using the 'reset my pin' process and going to MS to sign in.
