Hi All,

I'm really desperate in solving a very curious problem which I have never encountered after several years of IT work.

The following is our situation:

1 Windows 7 x64 Pro machine,

2 Windows 10 x64 Enterprise, all of them in an Active Directory Domain.

We have deployed Office 2016 Pro Plus (MSI-Install) to these machines last year. At some point they started to reinstall the same

updates for Office every time the machines were shut off. They show as successfully installed, but install is attempted every day for 74 updates which takes a very long time. Updates for windows install normally.

I have attempted to reset all windows update components, I ran every update troubleshooter, the readiness tool, scoured every log I could find.

I have attempted to manually remove any trace of the previous Office installation with the Microsoft Removal Tool, it doesn't change anything.

I have uninstalled office from the Windows 7 machine and Microsoft Update STILL tries to install the updates for software that isn't even on the machine anymore!

Does anyone have any other idea? The rest of the company is running Office 2013 without any issues. Office 2016 has been nothing but a headache so far. Any help is greatly appreciated.
