Microsoft refuses to connect to the store unless a subscription is made

My Windows 10 PC refuses to connect to the Microsoft store stating I am not connected to the internet when I have a fully wired system. Why does it keep refusing or blocking internet for whatsapp or any other system and still blocks its own store?
