I own a copy of Microsoft Office 2016 Professional Plus 64 bit and use Outlook for my mail agent. I am running Windows 10.

I was having problems with Outlook opening, the progress circle would spin but it would not open about half the time. I could go to Task Manager, stop the process and the next time it would open.

I was trying to find a solution, I went to Office uninstall and it gave me the option to repair. I started the process and it came up with an error saying it could not repair until I uninstalled a 32 bit Microsoft file. I followed the advice, deleted the file ( I am thinking it was a net framework file, but I could be mistaken) and the outlook icon went away and I had nothing to open. I then reinstalled Office, the icon came back but the program will not open. I do still get notices of emails arriving from my computer displayed occasionally in the lower right of my screen, so it is working somewhat, it will just not open.

I have Acronis true image, but when I restored the computer, it did not repair the problem.

I have no idea what to do now. I am afraid if I completely uninstall office and reinstall, I will lose things in Word I do not want to lose and saved emails in the program.

I kind of know my way around a computer apparently just enough to make me dangerous to myself.

Any advice is appreciated on how to get out of this problem without making it worse.

Thanks.. Gary
