Microsoft offline scan not working

[Windows 10]

I recently discovered some malware on my computer and I quarantined it but was planning on trying to backup a couple important things and then just doing a clean install of Windows 11 as I've been meaning to for a while now. I wanted to make sure backing it up on an external hard drive would be safe. I've run a full scan and it comes back clean, but when I try to do an offline scan it just doesn't work. My computer restarts and it shows the "Microsoft Defender Antivirus (offline scan)" loading screen for a little, but then it just restarts the computer like normal, never showing the window tha
