Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center forgets assignments

I assign "My Favorites" keys (2 and 3) to use macros I created. After a while (sometimes the same day, sometimes after a few days), the assignments - one of them or both - are forgotten and the key(s) return to their original assignment (which is opening the 2nd and 3rd apps from the task list, just like windows-key with a number does). Then I open MS Mouse and Keyboard Center, re-assign the macro (the macro itself is still there - only the assignment is forgotten), but it will be forgotten again after a few days or hours.I'm using Windows 11 and the app was downloaded recently from MS website
