Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset audio shuts off when muted

When I press the "mute" button or raise the mic boom to mute the headset it also shuts off the audio. This makes the "mute" almost useless. I need to be able to still hear the meeting while muted.Looking in the Microsoft Accessory Center app, there is no configuration for leaving the audio enabled while muted. Realistically, the default behavior should mute the headset while leaving the audio enabled. I wouldn't care if I couldn't change the setting as long as that was the case.
