Microsoft Authenticator stopping emails on Microsoft LAPTOP

I can't get emails on my Microsoft LAPTOP now because Microsoft Authenticator doesn't work on LAPTOPS. Help, please!!!!!I never installed the authenticator on my laptop; it is coming up from nowhere! The authenticator demands also popped up (I had not yet installed the app on my phone) unexpectedly on my Samsung S24 Ultra phone, but I installed the app, and it's ok now. However, my laptop and phone are no longer syncing. I'd be most grateful for any suggestions. Thank you!
