Microsoft account password not working for network or remote desktop access

I have a desktop and a laptop. The desktop was reformatted earlier this week. Both are running Windows 11 Pro, both have a single user account that is my personal Microsoft account. Before the reformat, I was able to access files from my desktop on my laptop over the network, and would on occasions use remote desktop to change/run things on my desktop from my laptop. But now I can't. It keeps asking me for my password, and then telling me that my password is invalid despite it being the password for the account that I'm using, the same password that works EVERYWHERE ELSE.
