After using my trusty old Dell pc for years, and now running Windows 7, I have suddenly lost the ability to print anything to my HP3005dm Laserjet Printer, which is connected to the printer via a US connector. My problem began a few days ago, when I noticed that documents I had sent the printer failed to print. But when I rebooted the pc the documents in the queue printed.
But it was not longer before nothing would print, no matter how often I rebooted. Instead, to docs remain in the printer queue. However, there seemed to be know for the pc to recongize or connect the printer. I have spent days doing the kind diagnostic procedures and potential fixes and real layman can learn about on line. Updated drivers, etc. ports too. Still nothing. Worse! Phantom new HP printers with slightly different numbers are beginning to show up in Device Manager.
Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have a fix? This is exasperating. Hard to understand how and why it could have happened so suddenly after so many years of problem free operation.
