Microphone Volume Errors

I just reset my computer and have since been having microphone problems—the microphone is too quiet, and I have to speak loudly into the microphone for others to hear me. I am using Realtek (R) Audio. I've tried many troubleshooting processes (Checking the Default Device in the Control Panel, updating drivers, checking permissions, restarting the device, etc.). One thing that I've noticed is that under the "Levels" tab in my microphone properties (Control Panel), whenever I try to increase/decrease the volume, there isn't a real change (e.g., 1% microphone input provides the same volume as 100
