Microphone stopped working after connecting new monitor to laptop

I recently connected a new monitor to my acer laptop, and I was overjoyed until I realized that, from the moment I connected said screen, my laptop simply refuses to aknowledge my microphone is connected at all. I use earbuds built in with said microphone, and the earbuds work just fine with no issue, but my computer just does not read the earbuds.I know it isn't an issue with the earbuds/microphone itself, since it works just fine in other computers and my phone and it only started immediately after the monitor was connected.I am extremely confused as to how the screen made it so the mic is n
