Microphone is not being recognized by Windows 11

Hello. I just bought a Sony WH-1000xm5 Wireless Bluetooth Headset with Built - In Mic. For the life of me I can't get the mic to work. The headphones work fine but windows 11 for some reason is not recognizing the mic. I did everything short of reinstalling windows. I have been through security and permissions, removed the device and reinstalled it, added the bluetooth again in services, tried the troubleshooters - Na Da - nothing. It refuses to recognize it. I know it's windows because the mic does work with a phone. Please advise.
