MFA and office phone number

I am trying to have the office phone to be the option for MFA. Unless the phone number format is +1 XXXXXXX it doesn’t allow me to choose the country code pulldown. However, if I put the format as +1 XXXXXXX it is not something everyone likes seeing in the address book in outlook. Is there a way to have the format to be in XXX-XXX-XXXX and be able to have the country code a choice?
