Message pops up claiming to be from McAfee virus scan

Hello,Within the past week, messages popped up several times when I was on one particular newspaper's website -- please see a version of the message below -- claiming my laptop may be infected and a scan is now running. I never pressed on anything on the message, and finally I did a cookies clean-up on Microsoft Edge in the hope the message would not reappear; however, I just saw the message again on Edge and on Firefox, too, and it's popped up on a different website, not the newspaper's.
