Manually Resetting Network Adapter on Windows Vista

My laptop cannot connect to my router at least twice a day, and resetting my laptops network adaptor always fixes the issue, but waiting for the diagnostics to run is beginning to take up too much time and so i am wondering if there is a shortcut to reset it on windows vista.
