Lost dongle, what to do with the useless mouse & keyboard

HelloMicrosoft mouse and USB transceiver are paired and will only work with each other, therefore since I have lost my dongle there is no further use for my Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop (SUK L5V-00004).What's the guideline from Microsoft to care for our environment in these cases where the equipment is no longer functional? Just "buy a new one"? How to dispose them now?
