I have Vista; computer is Toshiba L305-S5894
Turned it on this morning, screen showed ""configuring updates, stage 3 of 3 - 0% complete, do not turn off your computer". It continued in that mode for well over an hour, so I rebooted and got the same. Let it continue for three hours, no change.
How do I fix this? Please?

The problem still exists. I am able to get to the setup page, but don't know how to get anywhere from there. Is there any way to get to "system restore" from setup? A friend suggested that I ask for an engineer to respond. Any help would be appreciated, there's a lot of work I need to reclaim. Thanks!
