Log in problems (BitLocker and PIN vs Password)

Surface Go 3. Somehow my home number was used as the number for Identity Verification so text will not go through. I have the following problems: My wife suspected malware was on the Surface so she placed it in Safe Mode through our WebRoot program. Now it will not boot without the Recovery Key. I can't get to the Recovery Key in my account because the verification goes through the home phone. Also a PIN is asked for and we have never used a pin, just a password
