Hi,
The environment, is locked down. IE8 will be deployed with a distribution
software using an administrative account. Using IEAK8, i added some corporate
restrictions to the solution (example, disable changing home page).
We will not use AD at this time for group policy, and simply want a
standalone solution package which will update IE and apply some restricitons
using IEAK8.
My problem is: the restrictions are only applied to administrators users and
not to regular users. It works upside down.
The IE8 package created by IEAK add some Active Setup routines which seems
to be applied to every users that logs on after. But regular users dont get
the HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer keys which contains
the restrictions. If I put a user in the admin group, then those keys are
applied when this user logs on.
Anybody have an idea why those local policies dont get imported for regular
users? I am puzzled.
