Ever wondered if you can get gpedit.msc for Windows 10 Home? Well it is, and can be done fairly easily.

But using gpedit.msc does have some limits and may not work as intended.

How can I try it?

Using any version of Windows 10 you are able to download the installer from this link. But like I mentioned above, using gpedit.msc on Windows 10 Home does have its limits and may not be compatible with your PC. When the file is downloaded go to your downloads folder right click and run as administrator.

What can it do and not do?

I have written a list bellow including its pros and cons.

Pro's

  • Can edit logon/logoff scripts
  • Can edit/view Public Key Policies
  • Can edit Name Resolution Policy
  • Can edit Startup/Shutdown scripts

Con's

  • Can't force a specific lock screen.
  • Can't remove recycle bin icon from desktop

If you find anything you can or can't do please comment bellow and I will add them in.

Is it legal?

Yes, it is completely legal and does not break Microsoft's user agreement in any way. All it does is download official Windows feature files. Yes it is true that you require to have Windows 10 Pro or above to get the full features. These features are limited so we don't break Microsoft's user agreement.
