Lenovo Think Pad X1 carbon windows 8 won’t turn on

Hello, I hope someone can help me.I have a Lenovo Think pad x1 carbon windows 8 pro laptop. I was using it, closed the lid for 10 mins, came back to it and now it won’t turn on but the power button is lighting up green for 2seconds then off for 5 seconds and is continuously repeating this. I have tried plugging it into charger, holding button for 10 and 30seconds and nothing is happening. Some advice would be greatly appreciated as I’ve just started uni and really need it to work. Thank you
