Lenovo E590's Keyboard mute button won't work, but the light turns on.

Hi, I have a Lenovo e590 and I'm having mic issues. When I press the button (f4), the button lights up, but I can still be heard when I'm supposed to be muted. The other day, I had the issue that it wouldn't work at all and the light wouldn't turn on, but I fixed that (by uninstalling the keyboard drive and then reinstalling)What can I do about this? I've already tried uninstalling the driver and checking for updates.
