Early this morning my wife's Win 7 computer, set up for auto install updates, got all the 7/17/16 updates (except Win 10). That worked just fine with my wife. She's happy with Win 7.
My networked Win 7 computer, which is set to "notify me when updates are available", usually gets updated a few days before hers. So I decided to see my update status on the MS update site. Then things got a bit wonky.
First thing that came up was a window saying my Win 10 update had "failed". Even though the popups kept encouraging me to upgrade, I had never tried to install Win 10. So that was a bit puzzling. (I know the deadline is July 29 but I'm still pondering whether to upgrade to Win 10 or not - But that's another thread.)
I navigated to "check for updates", the progress window popped up and I waited...and waited... After 20 minutes the progress window was still searching. (It's never taken that long before.) So I went downstairs and had breakfast.
When I came back it showed my last Win 7 update was May 31. So I haven't updated since. Hmmm, that's 47 days ago! I miss my regular "malicious software removal tool".
I hope someone can tell me how to get my regular Win 7 updates to display, download, and install. TIA.
