Laptop won't wake from sleep

I've been having this recurring issue recently that I will be unable to wake the laptop from sleep. Not with the keyboard, trackpad or even the power button. I have to long press the power button and restart it if i want the laptop to respond at all.I managed to find a fix for it before, by (somehow, after hours of trying various things - im not a tech-y person so this was a real trial for me) making the laptop use the old sleep mode.
