Laptop wont turn on after being powered down during stuck update windows 8

I believe it was a windows update like k said it was restarting as soon an i opened and entered the password i believe its on windows 8? Or 7 its been awhile so i can remember So i got this old laptop and wanted to reboot it up so i bought a battery and charger for it yesterday and it powered on work just fine but today when i opened it it started auto updating and restarting so i let it do its thing but ot was stuck at 82% for hours so i powered it off and now it wont even power on no lights come on at all no response what so ever its an asus g75vw that hasn't been on for years
