Laptop speaker driver missing.

The speakers on my laptop do not work, nor do plug in headphones. In Device Manager it states that there are no drivers installed for the System Speaker, and when I try updating them, as there is no option to reinstall them, it states that the best drivers for my device are already installed. How do I fix this?
