Laptop randomly shuts down if it is connected to power adapter and to monitor via HDMI at the same time.

I always connect my laptop to my desktop monitor via HDMI for convenience. I use the same monitor for more than 2 years. Lately, last 5 months my laptop randomly shut down if it is connected to charger and monitor at the same time. If I unplug the charger but stay connected to monitor via HDMI everything works fine. If I am connected to a charger but not connected to a monitor laptop can go days without shutting down. But if I connect to the monitor via HDMI while the laptop charger is plugged in, it will start to randomly shut down. Changed HDMI Cable no change. Other laptop does not have sim
