laptop not able to go into safe mode help (vista)

Laptop is a Belinea o.book

Got the laptop off my dad, who struggled with it.

Laptop starts up, but freezes on windows update, restarts then does it all again.

Tried to start up in all Safe Modes, but starts up at update again.

I dont have a recovery disk unfortunately..

Any help would be very welcomed..
