Laptop log in via Microsoft not working - code not coming through

[Windows 11]

I am trying to log onto my daughters laptop and it says it sends a verification code to the email registered to it. The code never comes through. Have tried clearing emails checking junk.there is no way to go around this I would usually sign in with my email via a code as it’s a parent email locked to the laptop? I can’t access the laptop at all and she needs it for school work - it worked last week?
