I opened started the laptop and it was lagging a lot, even simple tasks like open task manager were taking more than 20 seconds. I thought it was the hard disk or the CPU, but nothing was wrong with them.
I was starting to think it was a virus or a trojan, but the antivirus didn't find anything wrong. I used the windows defender deep scan, then AVG deep scan, and malwarebytes, but nothing was found.
I turned off my internet connection, and went into safe boot to check if something was wrong with my system.
I used a registry cleaner, and fixed the problems, but it was still lagging like before. A weird thing I noticed is that exactly the same issues were detected after restarting the laptop.
So here is what I think the problem might be, although I'm not sure if these are the cause of the lag:
1 Windows has corrupt files, but I didn't find any integrity violations, but every time I turn on the laptop, i recieve a bios message saying that it can not determine the power AC.
2. A keylogger, but the disk is not used and neither the CPU has a weird behavior (none of the threads are used at 100%).
3. The drivers, but I can't check if they are outdated because of the huge lag. The sound of the computer is lagging
4. The most realistic reason i can find is a disk defragmentation, as the lag seems similar to one of a disk used to 100%, but it doesn't explain the low fps, even the desktop is lagging and things like the file explorer run at around 5 fps.
I want to mention that I had to reset my computer because of this, but It doesn't recognize any stick so I couldn't boot the computer, I had to reinstall windows through windows, yet the same problem seems to appear in less than a week.
Im sorry for my bad English and if this question is not in the right category, but I would appreciate if someone has an idea of what is going on with my computer.
