Laptop is having trouble locating flash drive

Hi, So couple hours ago I was trying to download a large file from steam client and all of a sudden the installation came to an abrupt stop prompting failed download errors. Upon closer inspection the flash drive (Patriot | 512gb) in the file explorer under "Devices and Drivers" disappeared and my laptop is no longer reading the connected device properly. At some point after reading articles on what measures I must take in order to resolve the issue I was facing I ran into even more problems.
