Laptop in sleep mode keeps creating new connections to monitor

Hi, hoping someone can help me.I have a work laptop and my own PC connected to my monitor - both with HDMI.I recently received a new laptop from work - almost like for like (Thinkpad, just a newer model), both running the same company build of Win11.Since having the new laptop, I'm having a curious issue when I'm using my personal PC. Even though the laptop is in sleep mode, it is triggering the monitor as if it has just been switched on - its really annoying as the screen goes dull/grey and there is a large pop-up asking if I want to connect to HDMI1 as it is now "connected".It happens about
