laptop BSOD and crashing while charging

I currently have an HP envy x360 15 and have been having problems with it charging. For some reason on certain occasions it will start to constantly BSOD and crash (withought a bluescreen, however still creating an error in the event log).I have tried updating some drivers and running a few things in command prompt to no avail. I have also opened up the back to check the battery and found some grime stuck on a part of the motherboard, this has been cleaned out, seemingly fixing the problem for a short period of time, but has now started with the same problems it had before again.
