Language bar shows uninstalled languages. Language packs do not correspond to keyboards. Windows 11

I am working with a new Windows 11 laptop purchased in Spain. I installed American English and US Spanish language packs and changed the default language to English. This worked until the Spanish keyboards began malfunctioning. Accents and umlauts do not resolve correctly. I removed the Spanish packs twice, but the language bar continues to display both. What could be going on?Thank you.
